Date and time
18:45 - 21:45Friday night climbing is a great way to end the week. Come and try it for the first time, get stuck in again after a break, or share your favourite problems and sends if you're a regular!
The Castle Climbing Centre is a fantastic place to visit in Manor House. There's a vegetarian/vegan cafe, loads of cycle parking, plenty of walls to explore and a lovely community garden. You'll need to pay for entry (£16.50 + £3 registration fee for first visit) and shoe hire (£4).
Register before you come
Bouldering is the easiest way to try climbing for the first time, but you need to register first.
Go to the First Visit page and follow the steps. You'll find information about what to wear, bring, and about the centre there too.
You will need to watch the induction video and complete a disclaimer form on the centre's website. It helps to complete that before you visit to save time checking in, but you can also do it at reception.
If you've climbed elsewhere, or not visited the Castle for a long time, you may still need to complete forms, so please check that page. (If you have problems, you can fill things in at reception.)
We'll start with a warm up and begin climbing properly from about 7pm, for a couple of hours. The centre closes at 10pm, stay for as long as you want, but we'll probably run out of energy before then!
If you want to try climbing with some friends, but can't do Friday evenings, say in the comments what days/times you prefer and we'll try to schedule the next one so you can come.
