Cressingam Gardens Community
We are a community centre beside Brockwell Park. The hall is rented out where a variety of events are held. We have recently started growing vegetables and had volunteers through IEL who help us to start clearing the space It needs a fair amount of work to make it safe for young and older people to come and enjoy the space and lovely building. We have held many different things over the years and we want to revive the community spirit We are starting a weekly coffee morning within the next few weeks to help break the isolation that many feel. We are awaitng confirmarion to enable us to run a school holiday club with the aid of a couple of ladies to introduce the young ones to the beauty of wild life, the environment and the joy of arts and crafts. We are looking into the possibilities to have a food bank.

The clearing and tidying the space will assist in making the space a lot safer for everyone It will be visually more attractive The residents will have the opportunity to get involved in maintaining the space and allow space for planting more food. It will also be more wildlife friendly as we can put bird and bat boxes on the trees.
