Each year Santa's Sleigh goes through the streets of Kingston playing festive music while volunteers knock on doors and collect donations. All residents are told he is coming and have enjoyed this tradition over the years so most should know what to expect.

Organised by Kingston Round Table to help local charities, veteran 'Tablers' will be there to ensure the event goes smoothly.

Any issues meeting us on the day, please call Dave on 07786991899

A few instructions from the Round Table:
• Please can you all be at The Canbury Arms @ 18:10 for a briefing by the Coordinator prior to the Wagon leaving at 18:30 sharp.

• During the briefing the Co-Ordinator will quickly run through a few instructions and hand out tabards, money tins and Santa hats for those who haven’t brought one along, as well as answering any questions.

• Please wear clothing suitable for the conditions, and remember we will be walking between 3 – 4 miles over 1.5 hours, so comfy shoes are recommended.

• Please bring a torch.

• We have a limited time to get around the route, so please walk as quickly as you are able to.

• As door knockers/collectors please evenly split between the 2 sides of the road, and ensure that each side moves at an even pace down each road, keeping just behind the slow-moving vehicle and Carol Wagon that will be alerting the residents that we are on our way with the bright lights and loud Christmas Carols.

• Please operate a 10 – 15 second waiting time for someone to answer the door and then move on if there is no answer.

• Announce yourself to the residents that you are from the “Kingston Round Table, collecting on behalf of local charities”.

• Please be careful crossing roads, don’t enter properties or get isolated from the main group etc. Whilst we are not working in pairs, please look out for each other to make sure we start and finish together.

• We should complete the route just after 20:00. Please ensure you report back to the Coordinator to hand in your money tin. We will do the count up and distribute the proceeds after the event.

• Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!
