Kingston upon Thames

Searchlight Community Centre is an amazing centre that is used by Mencap and other local groups. Sadly it needs some upkeep but this is where we can support this amazing charity and community space.

Martel would like us to paint the walls to the fire escape as it's starting to look rundown and unloved. This will help to refresh the look of the centre and create a welcoming atmosphere for the community centre visitors. Other tasks include cleaning out the kitchen and giving it a good scrub (so bring lots of elbow grease) and cleaning the floor in the big hall. Big jobs that are difficult to keep on top of day-to-day but the visitors and groups that use the community space will certainly benefit from these essential tasks.

The amazing Kingston School of Art students will be joining us on this task so please can experienced GoodGymers sign up to guide the students in these tasks and show them what GoodGym is all about.

Meet at the Quaker Centre for 6.30pm for a 1.5km walk or run there or meet at Searchlight Community Centre, Kingston Road, KT3 3RX for 7pm. There will be a 1.5km walk or run back as well. Martel is the task owner and a voluntary trustee of Mencap Kingston.
