Twas five days before Christmas, when all through the Borough Food Collective, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse – until the GoodGym elves arrived, that is! With sleighs (well, vans) full of veggies and hearts full of holiday spirit, our team, including some jolly Octopus Energy volunteers, set out to make this yuletide season a bit brighter for those in need.Under the twinkling Christmas lights, Brian, our Santa of the day, led his merry band of helpers with cheer. Mikhail was like Rudolph, guiding the deliveries to their rightful places, while Jill and Deanna, our own version of Santa's elves, sorted through vegetables with laughter and Christmas tunes setting the rhythm. Adam and Francesca, with their tinsel-topped efficiency, took care of the Sainsbury's donation as if they were wrapping gifts for the big day. This wasn't just an ordinary food sorting event; it was a Christmas party where every sorted carrot and potato was a gift of love and care. As we wrapped up, the air filled with a sense of accomplishment and festive joy, reminding everyone that the true spirit of Christmas is all about giving and community.
