If you like a lot of compost in your roof garden…join our club
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Pass the Smile and Hearsall Academy in Coventry.

Today, goodgym returned to Hearsall Community Primary school to support them in developing their memorial garden for Ben. We also welcomed Alex to his first session today. Great to meet you Alex.
The first job was to shift many bags of compost up the stairs to the rooftop garden. Everyone worked hard to get the bags to the top and we then set about filling the planters ready for planting. Laura and Liz helped re-pot a tree too, and Alex supported working out the irrigation system. Once the planters were filled with compost, the fun of planting the beautiful selection of plants could begin. Everyone got stuck in with the planting scheme and Laura gave us top gardening tips. Once the planting was completed, all that was left to do was have a quick tidy up. We then gathered downstairs for a hot drink, snacks and good chat. We look forward returning to Hearsall Community Primary School to support them in the development of this soon-to-be tranquil and nurturing space; a fantastic memorial to Ben and resource for children.
