The Ottoman Decline (in a lift)
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.

Peter and I used our lunch break today to help Ms S with an imminent move out of her flat. As we arrived, it looked like most of Ms S’ belongings had been already been shifted, just leaving some furniture that wasn’t going to travel with her to the new home. So that’s where we came in, to take out a single Ottoman bed (that was insistent on springing open at inopportune moments), another sofa bed, an armchair and a TV unit plus the TV on top of it (which looked in reasonable condition, but Ms S reckoned was no good any more). These items had been causing Ms S a bit of stress as she’d have been left facing a fee had they been left behind. I’m happy to report that it was pretty straightforward getting everything out, loaded in the lift and outside to a collection point, much to Ms S’ gratitude. We speculated that the TV wouldn’t hang round for long enough to be collected and sure enough while we were chatting outside having finished, we saw its new owner go past us.
Nice to catch up today, Pete! Hope to see you again soon, looks like you've loads of good stuff going on in Redbridge.
