There's not mush-room left in those barrows

Tonight saw us ran a whopping and very rare total distance of 11.7km!
10 of us headed to The Grow Organisation in Bowthorpe on a very warm evening.
We welcomed Emma and Robert to their 1st GoodGym run.
This was going to be test for some of the runners tonight as it was going to be a PB distance for 2 or 3 of them.
Early on the route we had to tackle the prolonged up hill section of Earlham Road, which really tested our agility.
We kept at a decent speed and on arrival Alex and her colleagues welcomed us and talked through the job of laying down as much of the wood chipping as possible on a new woodland walk, in an extremely picturesque location.
We had 2 of the strong men shovelling the chipping into the wheel barrows, 4 to 5 doing constant return trips unloading and reloading the wheelbarrows and the others raking the chipping out on the woodland walk... this really was a great team effort and a very challenging task to do after the long run there.
This was aided by me handing out (and eating a couple myself) malt biscuits that Katy brought along.
There were lots of mushrooms growing around the mountain of wood chippings, in case you wondered where the pun came from.
After the 30 minutes time limit I set was completed we cleared up and had a quick recap on the amazing efforts everyone had put in.
We then headed for the long journey back, with David still carrying large stick that made him look like Gandolf from Lord of the Rings haha.
A big shout out to Katy and Kate who had never run anything close to this distance before.
Next week's run take us to a scout hut in Lakenham to move some wood and cut grass.
There is also a training session this Friday that anyone is welcome to come along to.

Wowzers! What a long run! Well done GG Norwich team.
Great group for my 1st goodgym! Well done to everyone who took part. Looking forward to seeing you all next week :)
My longest run ever! Great fun evening with good company, thanks. TOP TIP - take it slowly and stay at the end of the pack to avoid Steve's extra exercises on route!
