Tucking into a blackberry bramble
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Croydon.
- Thursday, 27th of July 2017
Rachel and I turned up to Ms S's house in West Croydon on a very, very wet Thursday evening. Undeterred, we were eager to hop, skip and jump over the stepping stones towards the back garden and get started, much to Ms S's disbelief.
Sadly, we couldn't help her with the overgrown lawn as the rain was beating down but instead we got started on clearing the bramble of blackberries, Japanese knotweed and thorns so she could access the back of her garden and gate.
All the while we debriefed about the recent GoodGym shindig in Ilam Hall and dreaming of sunny holidays. As if by magic as we were busying away, the sky turned blue. We finished off our tasks picking some of the luscious blackberries for Ms S.
We left a very happy Ms S and set off in our respective directions very damp but fulfilled and looking forward to the next mission.
