Who'd have thought a run solarge would be so Poplar
19 GoodGymers made their way 11.3km to help their local community in Tower Hamlets.

19 eager GoodGymmers congregated at a school Poplar this evening to tackle a task that was far removed from the painting, greening & cleaning tasks we're used to. Most of the group set off on the 5km run from the Bethnal Green start point - led expertly in groups by Graham & Alison, whilst others based closer to Poplar met us at the start point. This included the task owner (and Parkrun superhero) Jeff, who ushered us to our task. 50 large solar panels filled an attic space which needed to be removed to make room for a water tank and for the panels to be installed on the roof. It was our task to shift all 50 down the stairs into a shed in the playground. No dramas. Our team worked amazingly in pairs, shifting the panels with ease, after being carefully passed down by Nick, Hass, Anna & our very welcome newcomer's Stav & Sebastian. In 30 minutes, the task was done & to celebrate we were invited by Jeff to join him at Mile End Park run (and also to challenge his & Hass' team at the local pub quiz)! Stay tuned for details on some excellent GGTH events to come! Well done to everyone who helped with this worth-while task, which saved Bill the caretaker hours of work. Also great work to those who completed the full 11km run to and from Bethnal Green. An amazing effort to kick off your week! Thank you for coming!
