Wooden it be nice
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Saturday, 3rd of February 2024
First visit of the year to Mrs C in Horfield who tends to have some of the less common types of mission tasks and this one was no exception 😀
Today’s task was to replace an old rotten base for a compost bin with a new one, made from a wooden pallet.
However the pallet was too big to fit the space required for the compost bin, so this needed cutting down to size and then adding back some of the blocks to make it strong enough to support the compost bin.
A saw, hammer, mallet and some old nails got the job done with a spirit level enabling the new structure to be set up on bricks and stones on a reasonably level basis.
Sawing up the left over pallet and breaking up the old base for firewood, nothing went to waste.
Sadly there wasn’t enough time for breaking down an old compost bin and sofa, but that’s something to look forward to another day! 🪚
