You've got to pick a bramble or two.!
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Saturday, 25th of August 2018
It’s always lovely when you’re on your way to a mission and you see your fellow GoodGym Buddies closing in on the destination. Vic and I had started chatting when we were quickly caught up by Jacqueline who whizzed past us to complete her run to the mission.
We knocked on the door and were met by Mr H who invited us in and after a few tries of different keys we managed to get a look at the back garden.
Wow, the garden initially looked like it was going to take more than one trip but we soon got to work and before we knew it after half an hour it was already looking much better. As they say “many hands make light work”.
Throughout the task there were a few ouches from the brambles that were intermittently sticking us through our not so heavy duty garden gloves, but that wasn’t stopping us from getting this garden finished and looking nice again.
After filling loads of bin bags and once we saw that there was nothing left to do we called Mr H to admire our handy work, who was so surprised he exclaimed “Blimey, Have I moved? Which made us all giggle. It was very satisfying to see just how appreciative he was and we left feeling a great sense of accomplishment.
When we left we all agreed that it had been a lovely mission and said goodbye to each other before making off separately to continue our Saturdays on a bit of a mission high.
