Gemma, Rosemary, Will, and I set off from Old Spike after a quick warm-up for a sunset run to Old Alleynian Sports Club. There, we met Isaac, Sam, and Nathan, ready to tackle our task for the evening. Ian put us to work clearing the astroturf in front of the rugby clubhouse. We used the soil we removed to fill in holes on the cricket pitch, helping to smooth it out in time for summer. By the time we finished, the astro looked much better! As a well-earned reward, Ian treated us to Easter eggs before we set off on our run back to Old Spike for a cool-down. To end the evening we headed to the pub for a well-deserved drink.

Eight Goodgymers (including two newbies- Johnnie and Daniel) met this evening at Old Spike for our group run to Elmington Gardens. We had a lovely 3km run over while the sun was setting. Our plan for the evening task had been to move woodchip, however, we arrived to find it had been stolen! Instead we cleared the wildlife triangle and path or brambles and picked the litter. We made a wonderful transformation in 40 minutes ☺️

We had 8 GoodGymers for our group run this week including first timer Annamaria.
Instead of the planned task of cleaning toys, Polis had another task that he needed our help with. A load of items had been left in the wrong place in the building so we created a human train to move them from one side of the building to the other (we've got a lot of experience with moving stuff at Salvation Army in Nunhead!).
We'll be back next month for our penultimate session with Polis before he moves to a different Salvation Army.
