Tonight GoodGym Sutton Coldfield collabarated with Area Activator Jonny's free weekly running club in Sutton Park.
The session involved 5 x 3 minute interval efforts, off 1 minute rest, followed by 4 x 30 seconds fast efforts of 30 seconds rest. The 30 second efforts certainly built up the lactic acid and as best they tried 30 seconds recovery wasn''t long enough to remove it all!
Once done, the group had just enough energy to do a litter pick around the park.
The aim is to make this a monthly session, so if you enjoy running it's a great way to get fit whilst doing good and if you aren't a runner you are more than welcome to join us for the litter pick :)

It was another lovely morning in Sutton Coldfield as the sun shone once again.
Olivier and Jonny did some weeding and watering at the Glovers Trust, always a nice task on a warm summers day.

This morning Jonny marshalled at this the Sutton Park Parkrun.
It was an unbelievable 26 degrees at 9am! It was that hot even the cows were in the parks lakes!
Jonny biked to the task, then did a long mountain bike ride after the session!

This morning Jonny and Olivier did a litter pick on our GoodGym Sutton Coldfield adopted part of Birmingham Road.
We walked a good 2 miles in total at a bit of a 'snails pace' as obviously we were picking up a lot of litter on the way!
With snails in mind we found a large piece of damp cardboard (after last nights rain) which we were about to put into our bin bags, only to find on the other side that it was full of snails. So before we put it into our bags we rescued around 30 snails, leaving them on a nice grassed area :)
We walked back to our starting point even finding an opened tub of Tomato soup! Once done we had filled a whole 2 bags full of rubbish, so we really made a difference :)

This morning Charlotte, Olivia and Jonny helped out at the Hill Hook Nature Reserve.
The task was lopping with the loppers! Well not exactly, it was to cut all the vegetation back from the paths.
Jonny who arrived on his bike, also did a bit of litter picking, though there wasn't much litter about.
We also got to see the swans with their new born.
We'll be back again at Hill Hook in 3 weeks :)

On a lovely warm and Sunny morning, Olivier, Raull and Jonny helped out at the Glovers Trust.
The session was doing some weeding. We were armed with hoes! hence the pun and a wheel Barrow. As you can see from the before and after pictures we made a real difference, filling a whole wheel barrow full of weeds.
