It was the penultimate shift at the vaccination centre before the Pavilion closes its doors for the foreseeable future.
It was the turn of the over 18s to come forward and receive their jabs. The centre was busy but moving quickly.
Meyrick and Mary took it in turns to check in the visitors car registration details and manning the staff entrance whilst Helen asked the visitors the mandatory questions required to enter the centre.
The shift went super quickly and before we knew it we were closing the doors and packing up to go home. It's been a pleasure volunteering with BEMS and the centre staff and being part of such an important service to the community.

On a very busy Saturday evening shift GoodGym athletes Rob, Steven and Meyrick put in a sterling effort to help marshall at the Pavilions.
Today was dedicated to people receiving vaccine number two and the queue was non stop. The venue were, as always, very welcoming and grateful for our help and made sure we knew exactly what was required of us.
To help keep us on the ball the staff manager ensured we were adequately rotated from task to task, from monitoring all exits to sanitising seating where used. Everything we needed to do carry out or duties was on hand and in abundant supply.
With the leisure centre now open regular punters are using the car park as well so the pay and display was back in action. In order to allow people attending a vaccine appointment to park for free there was a new process for inputting car registration details upon entry to allow them a free hours parking.
The late shift also incorporates those with no pre booked appointments who are called by the doctors on the day to attend at short notice in order that as many vaccines can be used on the day to avoid waste.
All in all a very successful day assisting this monumental vaccination program, congrats to all involved.

On a day the nation reached a milestone 50 million vaccinations, GoodGym were there to help out marshalling at Bath Pavilions.
Richard and Meyrick were available for the multiple roles required of us in both greeting arrivals and guiding them through with reassurance of what they needed to do. Duties involved monitoring exits and entrances, taking registrations from those who had parked in the car park (they get a free hour) and sanitising chairs in which those vaccinated had taken their pre-drive 20 minute safety wait.
Induction was provided excellently by the venue as usual, but it's the random events that require those in attendance to 'think on their feet', with people arriving without appointment or turning up with dogs at the incorrect exit.
Needless to say we managed brilliantly and all went to plan. It was great to be part of a truly international effort that is making history, well done to all involved.

It was our turn to help out at the last session of the day assisting at the vaccination centre. We took it in turns to get car registration details, to prevent parking tickets, take temperatures, and guide people to the waiting spots. Everyone was happy to be receiving there jab so the atmosphere was jolly.

Another brilliant shift at the Pavillion, helping give out a whopping 470 vaccines in just one afternoon. Today was nearly all people coming for their second doses of Pfizer. We had a few Goodgymmers who were new to the vaccine centre, and everyone did an amazing job. Freddie manned the backdoor and helped people get into taxis to get home safely. Rob and Steven checked on people waiting after their vaccines, and did a great job cleaning up after everyone. Nicola helped out the front, later joined by Steven, while Alice helped show people to their booths. Everyone coming in was in good spirits from such brilliant volunteers outside - lots of smiles and thanks all round. We even finally got a photo inside, with full permission, once everyone else had gone home!

The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the temperature was up.
Our shift started at 1545 but Emily, Tom and Helen arrived 30 minutes early to take the flow test. The other Goodgym members had their flow tests elsewhere up to 3 days before the volunteering shift.
We were welcomed to the Pavillion and shown to our positions. Mary and Lucy were placed at the waiting area. This area was super busy during this shift as the centre were giving out the Pfizer vaccine. This vaccine requires the recipient to wait for 15 minutes afterwards to ensure they have no side effects. As each member of the public left, the volunteers were required to clean the seat with anti-bacterial wipes ready for the next person.
Tom and Helen were placed in the main hall allocating visitors to waiting spots outside the vaccination booths.
Emily was placed at the staff exit and then moved to the front of the hall half way through the shift.
Steven and Rob were placed near the door. They were asked to help guide people in, read out the covid questions and take temperatures.
We finished at around 2015 and during our shift had welcomed hundreds of visitors into the centre. Well done team!
