Daryl and Janet met Poppy and Camilla from Creative Kids to help them put up their gazebo, ready for summer clubs. After working out which gazebo we needed from the storage room, we moved it out into the roof of the shopping centre. Then it was a matter of teamwork, with each of us taking a leg and hoisting it into position. Camilla claimed not to know how to put the gazebo up but we soon realised she knew a lot more than she was letting on. After we’d decided on the best height for the kids, we made sure all was clicked into place and added some weights to make sure it didn’t disappear in the wind overnight.

6 Goodgymers (met at the charity and were welcomes by Poppy. She took us onto the roof where the large panels for the podcast booth were being stored beneath a tarpaulin. We set to work carrying then between 3 or 4 of us as they were very heavy. Getting them through the door and into the storage area was tricky but with everyone chipping in, we managed it. A great task for Keith to earn his 100 tshirt on! Fantastic achievement Keith!

It's been a while since the gang have helped Creative Kids Arts Education Centre. So it was great to return to help out. Janet and Caprice met for the short run to the session. Emma, Sophie and Milly made their way to the task. They were met by Task Owner Cary who had the best task for them, getting the studio all christmassy!! 'Team Tree' was Janet and Caprice, they were tasked with building the 7ft christmas tree. Emma, Sophie and Milly aka 'Team Twinkle' They had the tricky task of untangling the Christmas lights. Once the tree was built, everyone got involved making it as bushy as possible with 'Team Twinkle' decorating with the lights. While the tree was getting all glitzy, Janet and Caprice helped out by taking out some recycling. 'Team Twinkle' did a cracking job, the tree looked stunning and it should do with three sets of lights! The final touch was everyone placed some cute teddy bears amongst the branches. We really hope the children love it. What a great session tonight, it really was fun and got everyone in the christmas spirit. Hopefully it won't be long before we come back to help Creative Kids. Watch this space.

I received a call from Cary, she was in desperate need of some help. Some burglars had broken into their festival trailer overnight. Luckily they didn't get a chance to steal anything, but they did break the sliding door, which means they could be back this evening.
Well, 4 of us dropped all we were doing on a Thursday afternoon, to make sure we could run over and empty the trailer for them, so the burglars wouldn't get a second chance.
In 30 mins the fabulous 4 had completed the job and bid their farewells, and ran off in 4 different directions feeling super good about themselves...and added another good deed to their tally!
Well done team!

The gang, with lots of new faces, gathered near the entrance to the Sovereign Center.
We welcomed Dominic and Nicole to their first GoodGym mission, although thanks to Tracy, they had heard about GoodGym from her Poole connections.
Angie and Star met us outside the Creative Kids studio and we split up into two groups. One was to help Star sort through musical equipment, and clear and area for a shelving unit to go in and then the musical instruments had to be sorted back into the shelves.
The other group was clearing out an area in the storage room to free up a shelving unit for the musical instruments. Then had to find space for costumes etc to go back into.
Lots of moving, shuffling, keeping our distance from each other and getting a good sweat on, and struggling to breathe with our masks on!!
But we got it all done in under an hour, Angie and Star were amazed and delighted!!
They would like our help more frequently on Saturdays moving forward, helping with moving equipment up and down before and after their performances.
WE'LL BE BACK!!!
