Sheffield GoodGymers made their way to help out at their local parkruns. I went to a damp Monsal Trail where I was timekeeper. If it is raining, you have to keep your phone screen dry as the parkrun Volunteer App thinks the rain drops are finishers. Tip: Take an umbrella; put your phone in a bag; or put it in your pocket and use your earphone switch to record the times.

John Lennon — 'Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.'
Last week, everything was not okay and it was not the Endcliffe Parkrun. That is to say, they could not muster enough volunteers and had to cancel the event, which is pretty poor given it is the most well attended in Sheffield.
This week there was a full roster, partly in thanks to us at GoodGym. The RD put out a plea at the beginning to encourage people to keep volunteering, especially those who run regularly.
I (Rachel) felt the pressure as timekeeper for 542 runners, Ellie helped keep the complicated funnel system run smoothly and Celine kept runners safe along the route as marshal.
At the end, we reconvened with runners Hannah and Annie for breakfast and chat before home. Look out for future GG Parkrun support events and consider if you could volunteer more often. All the details are on the parkrun website.

This sunny morn saw 3 enthusiastic Goodgymmers out to support Sheffield's busiest parkrun, Endcliffe. We helped set up and then we took our roles.
Celine was marshaling at a lovely spot by the duck pond, whilst Rachel and Michelle tackled the complex funnel system. We were supported by some of the regular D of E volunteers, who were more familiar with it. There were a couple of moments that got a bit stressful, but with over 600 runners, I think it ran fairly smoothly overall!
We caught up with Annie at the end, congratulating her on her run, everyone raided the 'kit swap' before heading to the park cafe for breakfast in the sun.
Next month, we're heading a bit further afield to support GG Barnsley. Sign up here to join us on June 4th!
