Tonight we found a dinosaur on our GoodGym job. I'm posting a picture of said dinosaur as that was probably the least scary fly-tipped item we removed from the park on the Rawthorpe estate tonight.
Broken garden furniture, kids toys, an oven, numerous plant pots and copious litter were all included in the monstrous amount of rubbish we shifted in about an hour.
I always feel better for having done one of these jobs as the park looks much better so I know our efforts have made a difference. But at the same time I feel sad that people ate so irresponsible and inconsiderate to literally sling their unwanted items over their garden fence onto the park/playing field area beyond.
Thanks to Sharon from Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing and local resident Simba who joined us for the job, and of course GoodGymmers Kati Lawand Ben Godfrey for their stirling efforts as ever.

Kati Law, David Bilton and I were certainly not amused by the volume of fly tipping to be removed (once again) from the Rawthorpe Estate. However the horrible task was made slightly more bearable by the sounds of the Muse gig emanating from the John Smiths Stadium next door.

We shifted a huge cupboard tonight, and many bags of other litter and detritus from the Rawthorpe Estate.
Well done to Kati Law, Ben Godfrey, David Bilton, Louise Godfrey and John Fletcher who really got stuck into what was quite a grotty task!

Its actually not a long way for some residents of the Rawthorpe estate when they have an chair, sofa, TV, microwave or bicycle they want to get rid of. Apparently some of them just take the unwanted item out and sling them over the fence into the woods on Kilner Bank. Then GoodGym turn up every few months and shift as much of the fly tipping as we can!
Thanks to Kati Law, Louise Galvin, David Bilton for their help tonight, and of course Sharon Donaghy from Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing for the job and getting stuck in with us!

A discarded bath was just one of the unwanted objects GoodGym shifted when removing fly tipping from the Rawthorpe estate last night. Sofas, tables, TV's and some decidedly less pleasant items were all cleared, leaving the estate safer and looking cleaner for the residents.
Thanks to Sharon Doherty from KNH for the task and Ben Godfrey and David Bilton for their muscle!
