Level Headed

Saturday 29th November 2025

Written by Luton runner

Seven Goodgymers were grateful to have an indoor task on a cold and wet morning! We met up at the Level Trust to tackle a mountain of donated school uniform and to put together a new adjustable table to be used by the Trust’s regular crew of volunteers.

With guidance from Kim and Elaine from the Trust, three of us got to work on the donations and the remaining four picked up their Allen keys and made short work of the table, impressively only making one small mistake (and it was easy enough to take off the legs and put them back on again the right way round…)

Great teamwork as ever and a warm welcome to Fatima who completed her very first good deed with Goodgym!

We’ll be back again soon!

Go, No, Logo, No Logo, A Go-Go

Saturday 6th September 2025

Written by Luton runner

Four Goodgymers made their way to the Level Trust Uniform Exchange to help sort through a mountain of recent donations.

We were greeted by Kim and Elaine from Level Trust and they explained what each piece of donated clothing should be checked for. Usable clothes were sorted into crates and unusable donations sorted into bags (one for clothes with logos, one for clothes without).

We got into a steady rhythm and quickly worked through tens of bags, with calls of ‘No go logo’ and ‘no go no logo’ as we went. Happily, lots of the donations were in good condition, so once they’re washed and dried they can be added to stock and hopefully used again.

Lots still to do, so we’ll be back!

Rewear, Reuse, Recycle

Saturday 26th November 2022

We returned to the Level Trust Uniform Exchange to continue assisting with the sorting of uniform donations. A nice warm feel-good task saw a good turnout and we managed to filter out 10 baskets of good clothes to go away for a wash before finding new homes, and several bags of past-their-best clothes that will go for recycling.

There's still loads to sort through so we'll be back again in a few weeks to keep on going!

See it? Fold it. Sorted!

Saturday 22nd October 2022

Straight off the back of a morning Parkrun (well, for some of us…) five GoodGymers made their way to the Level Trust’s Uniform Exchange to help sort a mountain of recent donations.

After an hour or so’s work, the mountain was more like a hillock. A satisfying task helping a brilliant local charity and one we’ll hopefully return to in the coming weeks.
