4 awesome goodgymmers gave up their Saturday morning to help out at the Boiler Community Garden. We basically did a whole lot of weeding, and found some pretty massive worms. Photos are before and after. Siobhan was very thankful for our help and said we made a huge difference:)

Sadly we didn't manage to complete our task today due to an unwell fox that made its way into the Boiler Gardens and needed rescuing by the RSPCA. Him being there made it unsafe for him and for us until he got collected. I received news later that afternoon that he was collected and will be treated for an infection after being hit by a car. We hope to move this session to next Saturday!

The Boiler garden, an amazing community project near Myatt's Field, is in need of some Goodgym attention. Siobhan set it up and is now finding it a lot to manage herself.
This session was mainly to recce of the garden and make some plans for future sessions, however we did end up hosing and scrubbing down the water logged floor where a lot of green sludge had been developed, making it quite slippery, this will make it safer for future visits. We then weeded all of the raised beds, and harvested some cavelo nero, chard, spinach and a radish!
Another session in 2 weeks time, to weed, clear and sort the borders of the garden!

A classic Goodgym mission to clear some bindweed at Myatts Field. Five of spent about an hour pulling bindweed off the hedge between the entrance to the park and the nature reserve. We had planned to go into the nature reserve but after an hour hadn’t made it there yet!

Three of us met at the corner of Myatt's field to pick up the big bag and get started on the bind weed. As soon as we walked into the wild area of the park the bindweed was clear to see.
We managed to fill the bag in an hour and gave the hedge some much needed freedom to grow without being suffocated by bindweed.
Lots more to do so I'm sure we'll be back again soon.

17 brilliant GoodGymmers gathered on a pleasant autumn (😳) evening, struggling to believe that it's actually September. Our hosts Tony and Taye weren't there to guide us in weed-identification tonight but fortunately, Mark had a big list of helpful tasks for us to do 😅
In classic GoodGym style, the main aim of the evening was bindweed-clearing (and fortunately, GoodGym Lambeth are well-practised at identifying this particular weed!) We were delighted to welcome Patricia for her very first good deed and hope that we'll see you again soon 😁
After an hour in the wildlife garden there was significantly less bindweed than when we'd arrived 💪🏼 We gathered into a big bindweed pile for some bindweed-friendly disposal and called it a day.
There wasjust time for a group photo at dusk before we lost the daylight, and then Mark led a lovely fitness session for some impressively-energetic members of the group 👌🏼
And that was that. Thank you everyone, great job 😄
