Queens Park Community Council

QPCC is the first Community Council in London. We came into existence following the May elections in 2014 after local residents voted for the first London Community/Parish Council to be established.

The Council has a unique opportunity to better serve and represent the 12,500 residents of Queen’s Park and we are doing so by focusing on community engagement. We are an apolitical council whose aims are to provide residents with a community they wish to see by improving educational opportunities; improving social and economic wellbeing and improving the appearance of the local area.

44 GoodGymers have supported Queens Park Community Council with 18 tasks.

The Royal Delivery

Monday 13th May

Written by Tabitha Skinner

On Monday evening Goodgym Brent ran/walked to Queens Park, where we met Shuwanna, a Queens Park Community conucil repreesntative.
The Queen’s Park Voice is the community newsletter, delivering news and opportunities to the 5000+ households in the ward. We had helped deliver a few weeks ago, and were back to finish the job. We split into two teams, divided the leaflets, and delivered to the houses.

Once we had completed the job ,we jogged back to Willesden Green

They are ever grateful for our help in delivering leaflets

After a weekend whirl of sunshine, Monday reminded the crew it was still April with icy winds. As Tabitha, Samina & Josh met at Beer and Burger ready to stay warm. An attractive run down past Queens Park to get the blood pumping to meet Lee & Beatriz for some high energy Queens Park Council newsletter deliveries! No time to stay still London wind, the team expanded out over Portnall Road to reach the mail slots and letterboxes of the residents within council region. With a small uphill run back to the starting location, the team earned a well deserved sit down in Beer and Burger afterwards.

4 Goodgymers met at Beer and Burger warmed up then jogged 3.2km to meet Katherine in Queens Park to deliver leaflets for Qpcc promoting their free summer festival for the community. We negotiated plenty of steps and letterboxes posting over two thirds of a trolley full of leaflets. Quite a few locals should be turning up. We jogged back, cooled down and had a quick refreshment. Good luck Sabina on your Italian travels. Good job Goodgymers.
