Oxford Report written by Katie Fellows
Capitalising on a sunny Saturday, 7 Goodgymers ventured to Oxford City Farm. Originally, we were set to help at their Autumn Festival, however, due to the heavy rain over the last couple of weeks this had to be postponed. Instead, we helped the clearup effort. Our first task was weeding under the apple trees and the beds of leeks. Weeds pulled and conversations had across many topics we enjoyed a cuppa and homemade flapjack with the other volunteers.
Our final task saw us clearing a path and area behind the kitchen in the hope that it can be used for future visitors to the farm for activities. Jobs done, we made sure to pick up some produce from the farm, jellies and preservatives were the order of the day. As it was Matt B's last Goodgym task in Oxford we hotfooted it the Jolly Postboys for crisps and a refreshing beverage.

The Oxford View Cones are designated by the Oxford Preservation Trust. Years ago one of our GoodGymers, Tim Lund, devised a mixed terrain loop around them all. The route starts in Binsey, Tim's childhood home, then does a full circuit of the city taking in Boars Hill, Rose Hill, Marston, Elsfield, Wolvercote, and back to Binsey nearly 24 miles later.
2 years ago we ran the loop knowing that Tim had received a terminal diagnosis and that he was keen to see his route adopted by runners and walkers. Tim died in 2023, so this time we ran it in his memory.
Lots of GoodGymers joined for different sections of the run, making it a lovely communal day out. It's a fabulous run which Tim left us, and many of us can imagine revisiting parts of it on shorter runs in future.
Thank you Tim, for leaving behind something that's still bringing joy to people and pups.
