This evening's group run broke new attendance record for Bournemouth. Mainly thanks to 9 amazing humans coming to do some good from 3 Sided Cube. They came along last year as part of their 12 days of Christmas project where they volunteer at twelve different organisations to spread the Christmas spirit. You guys were great, and we'd love you to come along more often. Keep an eye on the website and if you see any group runs that tickle your fancy, come and join us, you're always welcome.
It was also special because we welcomed back Andrea who we had been missing for a while....hopefully things settle down for you and we get to hang out more often! We miss you!!!
We were extremely lucky again this week with the weather. It had been raining on and off most of the day and twenty minutes before our meeting time the weather decided to mellow and allow us to get out and do our good deed for the day! We are very grateful! Most of us misjudged the temperature and as a result had extra layers on....way too many layers and soon after the first hill climb onto the overcliff that's when we realised we had made a mistake.... But the gang stayed positive and split up into different paced groups. Caprice made sure no one was left behind by themselves!
When we got there Alex explained what needed doing and everyone grabbed donation boxes and starting sorting through dates and products. We only had 25 minutes but everyone moved super quick! In no time we had managed to clear so many boxes and even had time for team photos at the end too!
The run back was a little more direct and with less hills as we were trying to get back in time to collect our bags at exactly 8pm. And it still wasn't raining either! How lucky are we!? Must be all that good karma we have been building up!
Next week we are doing a shorter run, it's a flyer drop for the YMCA. Check it out here and sign up!
Well done everyone! We are out for our Christmas dinner this Friday but will be in town around 20:30 for drinks so get in touch if you would like to join us!

It had been a long time since our last litter pick, so it was time to clean up the chines again.
We were lucky to have Daniela and Chloe come and join us for their first ever group run! Two lovely ladies who got involved straight away, chatting and being friendly with everyone.
After a run along the streets we headed to the first chine and ran down it....then we ran back up it because we are badass....or because I like the look on the gang's face when I tell them we're doing a hill run.... But they did it and survived!!!
On our way back down again we got into pairs and made a little competition of it to see who could fill their bin bag first or have the heaviest one....
Some of us were a little more competitive than others....Neil and I did manage to fill our bag all the way to the top....mostly because we found the local teenagers secret drinking spot!!! Jackpot!!!
We ran up and down a couple more chines but most were clear of rubbish....excellent!! We headed back happy that we had made a difference for another evening!
Lovely to meet new people, do some exercise, get some fresh air and make the world or this corner of Bournemouth a better place to live.
Well done all of you for coming along!! Hope you feel good about yourself....you should!
See you next week!!!!

This weeks group run took us to see Alex at Bournemouth Foodbank who is always really grateful that we come and help which makes us want to go and visit even more! It was amazing to have Heather back after she was kidnapped by her work.....we were willing to pay the ransom but were never given a drop off location....so we had to wait patiently!
Megan's commute was finally kind to her and as a result we were lucky enough to have her smiley face back with us again! We are super grateful that you guys are back!
Congratulations Grace on reaching your 10th good deed tonight!!!!
Annnnnd I'm really happy 8 of you guys came out tonight despite how horrible the weather had been throughout the day! It turned out to be a really nice evening and we managed to work up a sweat on the way back!
The route out took us up our favourite overcliff climb but then along the top of the cliff so we could chat with wave sounds in the background and no car noises at all. We ran in pairs pretty much all at different speeds catching up and discussing things that happened since last week.
It was Megan's first time at the Foodbank so after quickly getting to grips with how the dates worked out and the sorting we were all grabbing boxes and finding use by dates....some are incredibly hard to find....and then once you have found it...your brain freezes and can no longer figure out if that date it before or after a January 2019 and so on....does it have 6 months left, no...well then that goes somewhere special.....very complicated at times but with Alex guiding us and double checking with others we usually find the right categories!
It felt like we had to leave so soon today and it's one of our favourite tasks....I think for our next visit in the first week of December we may meet up a bit sooner than usual to get more done!
The way back saw Neil and Lee lead the way and make it back in time to grab everyone's bags etc.....I'm sure the hill at the end was steeper today!!!
Well done everyone! I hope you feel better for getting out tonight, getting some fresh air and doing some good in the community! Back again next week!!!

This evening we were tasked with running around the center of Bournemouth to do a flyer drop for YMCA Bournemouth. They provide a variety of services to the community and it's great that we have finally linked up with them and will be doing lots more in the future. You can run for them in the upcoming Bournemouth Marathon Festival, or take part in one of many events they are organising to raise awareness of the homelessness situation in Bournemouth. The Big Sleep Easy is one such event. Have a read here
It was great to have Sean back after what felt like an eternity.....or about a month....we missed you Sean, and I know you missed us too...despite what you say!
Well done for Daryl, Megan and Heather for making it back also. Busy people who we are very lucky to have join us when they can fit us in!
This Saturday if you are in the area, Andrew needs our support at the Poole Parkrun. He will be running his 100th Parkrun and will be going for a PB. Any of you around please head over for a 9am start to support him and to pace him to a below 25min record! Maybe his black GoodGym T-shirt will arrive in time. 50 Good Deeds and 100 Parkruns.....what a
LEGEND!
The objective this evening was to flyer drop all around central Bournemouth so we set off along a couple of roads, losing people here and there....mainly Andrew who kept finding letter boxes where no one else did! The route took us through some new roads and paths, exploring new places none of us had ever been to...or will go to again for that matter! Soon the conversation turned to how you may word some of the real estate ads for some of the places we came upon. Creative writing at its best! We came across quite a few hills....which had some of the nicer houses on them...most of which had gates blocking us off! So rude! But, we powered up the hills and back down into town again and by the time we got back we only had a handful of flyers left. We started with
500
With 9 of us that's pretty good going guys!!! Brilliant effort!
We may have to start wearing torches and reflective clothing from now on as it did get dark on the way back!

Megan Angus completed 5 good deeds with GoodGym.
Megan is a now a pretty committed GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the fifth time

Today we were eagerly awaited at Hope Housing. I even had a phone call from Mark yesterday to check we were still coming.....he never calls!!!
We were also super happy to welcome back Steve after some time off....we hope we can keep you away from the Portsmouth group!! Lovely to have you back! See you next week!
We also welcomed Steve to his first run with us, we're really happy your colleague pointed you in our direction! You were great and fitted right in! Well done for coming along and chatting to everyone! You're our kind of guy!
Our run to our task would have been quite short so the gang begged me to take them a longer route, up a few hills. These guys are so motivated!!! Love them! As it's the "beloved" airshow this weekend, lots of the road overlooking the sea were closed to cars, so it was great to run along them, and we had to stop to take a few photos!
Hope Housing are building some new offices on their premises, so this week Mark had us shifting lots of fibreglass planks into the structure to keep them away from the rain and get them ready to be installed. Those of us with gloves were in charge of those. Neil, Steve and Millie made short work of that!
Then another group was moving wooden planks into another area and stacking those. We got to work on our squats...and chain technique....we are very good, some great form and efficiency on display. Megan, Andrea and Sarah were soon moving things along smoothly. And not a splinter in sight!
Off to the side original Steve, Mark and later Sarah were tasked with sorting through the off cuts of wood and sorting them into shapes and sizes, these were then going to be used to make flower pots. Nothing goes to waste at Hope Housing!
With everything done we set off back to base, but this time the straight and direct route...along all the restaurants and all the lovely smelling food....I'm pretty sure everyone picked up the pace on the way back...and even Millie rocked up the last hill without stopping! Impressive! Glad your headache cleared!
See you all next week!
