Report written by Yianny (he / him)
Last night's run was full of controversy which made for a very engaging evening all round!!
First up Shannon great to have you join us on a group run, you will have hit 10 good deeds in no time at the rate you are going, welcome to the Lambeth Community!
Most people were joining directly at tonight's task however a small group of hardy individuals set off from Papa's and so to controversial conversation number 1 - what classifies as an ice lolly?? The consensus by the way is anything that can be found in a chest freezer but doesn't have a dairy element (although Solero and Milk pops both provide challenges to this....) AA was happy to overuled by the majority on this one.
(Other controversy involved rounding GG running distances to the nearest km so quite a day!)
The Lambeth crew reunited at the St Christopher's Hospice shop which was new task for Lambeth group (thanks to the legend that is Mark G - AA for Bromley and formerly from round these parts - for the assist.)
Anabel from St C's was there to show us around the massive space and our tasks which were to separate all the bags of donations into adult or childrens, clothes, linens, toys, books, bags and anything else. Some items were to go on hangers, others straight out onto the shop florr and yet others were to be recycled. Shannon was also in charge of dusting and disinfecting the stands around the shop.
The group was very impressed with all the great items being sorted and there are definitely going to be some visits back to buy some nice fashion items.
Overall there was simply too much to get through in the time we had but it was such a satisfying task that we will be making it a regular session each month so keep your eye out for the next one in June!
Big thank you to Anabel and to all the volunteers and see you at the next one!!
