Report written by Bournemouth runner
Last time we were scheduled to visit Slades Farm we had to call it off as it had been just too wet. Well this morning in Bournemouth the weather was terrible once more! However, the good deed gods were watching over us today. By the afternoon the rain had cleared the glorious sunshine was out to entice us back out again.
There were ten of us this evening, ready to brave a longer run than usual.
It was great to have Mark join us for his first group run. And great for Sarah to invite him along!! Although Poole will be closer once it does launch..we're happy to look after you!!! Please come back, it was great to meet you!
We arrived right on time and Theresa was waiting for us and quickly put us to task. Mark, Laura and Miffy quickly set about digging up some grass to make an area for them to plant some Comfry. Which would then be used to fertilize the compost.
Millie set about using her girl guide skills to put a point into some stakes which Neil then hammered into the ground with his arms..which weren't sore at all....
Daryl and Lee were in charge of digging up unwanted saplings.
Sarah and Beth water joined later by Neil and were on the hunt for young willow trees to cut down to be woven into a live hedge to encase the compost heap. Bit of a challenge to identify willow from birch, brown birch and silver birch! Reckon Beth was the best at it!
And all this in half an hour! We even managed to break one spade....and then help put back all the tools too!
We hope to go back again very soon!!
Very cool to have Neil showing off his new black GoodGym T-shirt!! I want one!!!!
Well done everyone!! Hard run but you guys did great!!!!
See you next week!!
