Five fabulous humans met last night, for a night of fiercesome fun - flyering for the Friends of Crystal Palace Dinosaurs!

It was great to catch up after the Christmas break and everyone was discussing their running goals for the year. After a last minute change of plan (saving all the treecycling for next week!) we'd been asked by the friends of the dinosaurs for some help spreading the word about their 'Saturday at the Museum' event on 14th Jan.

It sounds really excellent; VR, art, an indoor history trail, and lovely to see the Museum, friends of the park and dinosaurs all joining together for some family fun! 🦕

Our plan was to visit all the houses on the roads around the park, and pop flyers through their letterboxes. We split into two groups. Clare and Sam took the long route, heading up the east side of the park before continuing round it to meet me, Stephen and Cat who were taking on the roads along the south side.

We nearly finished all the houses before it was time to call it a day, but look out for a little bonus session next week.

500 flyers down, 300 to go.

Next week it's all change at GG Bromley as we switch up our sessions to Monday evenings instead! Sign up for the session here!

Local community charity campaigning for the conservation of the Crystal Palace Dinosaur statues.

Friends of Crystal Palace Dinosaurs works with Bromley council to make sure the Dinosaur statues in Crystal Palace Park are conserved and the area around them well-maintained. We also do public engagement work to help the public connect with the statues, and understand their place in the history of science, local area history, and palaeontology. We are currently crowdfunding a permanent bridge over to Dinosaur Island in the CP Park lake (where most of the statues are found) which will enable us to run more tours, and to carry out conservation work on the statues and gardening on the island.
