After my parkrun, I decided to join a community mission at St Mary’s Church, helping to plant bulbs around the area. Sam, the gardener in charge, explained how deep we needed to plant each size of bulb. I really enjoyed being part of the community group, and at the end, we were treated to some very rewarding refreshments, including two delicious homemade cakes and some savory snacks.

Hi! I’m the other GG person at the task, sorry I didn’t get to say hello! I asked Sue for a task a bit away from where all the leaf raking etc was happening as I’ve recently had Covid & it was a bit dusty for my still-sore lungs! Looked like everyone was working super hard! When I realised who you were you were just saying goodbye and I had a mouthful of quiche so I couldn’t 😂 There’s a few of us who regularly do Hilly Fields parkrun and then come down to the St Mary’s garden task (via the post-parkrun cafe!) so hopefully you will come again as it would be lovely to meet you! Thanks for coming all the way to Lewisham to join us ❤️

I came a bit late as I had volunteered at Beckenham parkrun and then needed to go home for a little a rest after (i really do not recommend Covid!). Hopefully you’ll come again - the refreshment table is always a good incentive! 🤣
