Last night was one our walkable sessions, it was a 'yarns throw' away from our meeting point, and was actually to visit our brand new start location, Stockports Produce Hall.
8 runners turned up to walk/run the short distance to Stockport Town Centre historic market place, armed with 10 lots of crochet hooks and balLs of wool it was time to snuggle down and start to learn to crochet!!!
One of our previous tasks was to knit hats for the Neo natal nit at Stepping hill hospital, we got a fair few done, and thanks to the lovely Simone and her fabulous knitting skills we now have a extra 10 stunning baby hats, that are lovely and soft and knitted to perfection. I thought this time we could give crocheting a whirl, since i think its a much easier skill to pick up, however the ONLY thing i can crochet is a granny square blanket....so thats what we were doing, the task was to crochet 10 little blankets to go with the hats, and then in around 6 weeks time we will have a community mission to run to the hospital to drop them off.
After a session of crocheting and nattering it was time for a quick blast of running, and at Goodgym Stockport we love a bit of the market place, and the fishhill, some runners wanted to stay in and continue to crochet, a few wanted to run as fast as they could....so we hit the cobbles of the market place and got through a few sprints and a hill run, as you can see from the photographs, it was very enjoyable!
A massive well done this week to Hannah who completed the Chester Marathon on Sunday and got a PB!!! ****woooooo, well done lady, brilliant work.
Have a great week running, and maybe crocheting???
