Leyla from Living Under One Sun (LUOS) called yesterday with terrible news. Storm Ciara had wrecked havoc on the grounds of this wonderful community organisation, and two of their massive marquees had been blown over and were damaging the vegetable nurseries. On top of that, the heavy and bent wreckage of the marquees was hanging over neighbouring property and needed to be cleared away immediately.

That's all Goodgymmers had to hear before they bounced into action, including Femi who joined us for her first good deed ever!

We arrived just after lunchtime to rather sad scenes but were undeterred. Armed with smiles and allen keys, seven wonderful Goodgymmers set out to unloosen a multitude of bolts and nuts. The job seemed too big but we cracked on and in just under 90 minutes, we had taken the wreckage apart and salvaged as much as we could.

Leyla was relieved, impressed, and happy. And this means LUOS can now turn its attention to all the great activities they will host for local kids during half term without the headache of a massive bill for the job that was done today.

Goodgym rocks!
