Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Benjamin Annear
Grangemoor Parkrun took place at 9am which was a huge success! So many passionate runners ran through Grangemoor Park at a rate of knots having an awesome time...
Then it was time for the post parkrun litter pick!...
Grangemoor park is no stranger to litter unfortunately and so it was time to do our bit to keep it clean. Over 25 runners took part in the litter pick, finding items from single pairs of socks to Lisa finding a single boxing glove and a lone shoe. David Sinclair absolutely loves litter picking too and he brought his helpful companion, Eddie, along to help scout for litter. Unfortunately, not only is Eddie a dog, but he is also under 18 years of age so he can't come running with GoodGym on Tuesday evenings... but he is still adorable nonetheless! Richard came all the way to Cardiff from Bristol to add 'G' to his Parkrun alphabet and also to join in the GoodGym Parkrun litter pick - You are awesome! Dafydd was trolleyed litter picking, opps, I meant to say he found a trolley... and not only that he also found a chair and an old thrown away coat - He was very much on form today (He was also celebrating 100x running Grangemoor Parkrun - What an achievement :) ) . Angharad Rhys has an eye for litter and managed to fill up a whole bag in relatively no time at all! Amber from Run4Wales got stuck straight into litterpicking and within 15 minutes she managed to fill a whole bag of litter too. Mike was litter picking on top of Grangemoor Hill. It really was a litter picking spectacle!
There were so many other people who got involved that deserve a mention. Andrea, Carl, Liz, Paul, Aaron, Suzi, Debbie, Sue, Richard, Don, Fiona, Aimee, Lucy, Katie, Dhana, Gerda, Angeus, Steve and more!!
Towards the end of the litter pick Darragh ran around the park to make sure everyone had returned from the litter picking and to make sure nobody was hiding in the bushes to try and litter pick for the whole day!
Thank you to Parkrun, GoodGym and Keep Wales Tidy and, of course, all of the runners who stayed behind to litter pick - Without you guys this would not have been possible, you are amazing
