We had 9 runners tonight run 3k in a training session in Slough with plenty of fitness training thrown in too.
We started by welcoming new runner, Tracey, to her first Goodgym session.
After a quick warm up we went straight into fitness training focusing on leg strengthening and core workouts, combining them with running techniques learned in previous sessions. This included squats, sumo squats, backward lunges, russian twists, single and double leg extensions.
After each set of core exercise we introduced speed training and hill exercise to help work towards becoming stronger runners.
We could all take lessons in endurance from Jean and Pam!
We ended the session with a few games including "Noughts and Crosses" using coloured cones, challenging each other in teams. Sandy was super happy to win a couple of games!
Happy birthday to Harsha. We celebrated the big "40" in true Goodgym style by dedicating our last exercise to her favourite exercise and completed 40 Burpees on her behalf.
