A team of Goodgym volunteers arrived at Alice park on a sunny wintery day ready to get stuck in. Following a short briefing, we were allocated our socially distant spots, given the tools and the rest was up to us.

Alison and Cosmo took the heavy tools and impressively chipped away at the hard, concrete ground. They made progress quickly and even Alison's watch agreed is was rigorous work.

The two Emily's (Emily and Emily) both new to Goodgym started on the top layer of soil shovelling away into wheel barrows for use elsewhere in the garden.

Doris dug the largest hole and slowly began to disappear into the trench

Helen had the clay to contend with, forking it over and collecting in buckets ready for the sack truck.

Whilst Sophie worked busily in the main garden

It took just 2 hours for us to complete the trench. Now ready for the community garden team to plant their yew trees.

The task owners were very impressed with our efforts and couldn't believe how much we achieved. Well done team, what a great way to start a Sunday!
