On our first group run of 2020 - *17 *runners met at the Mildmay gym.

We welcomed Clive to his first group run and he was at our starter session on Saturday, so he wasn't put off by that!

A quick chat about the new Good Friday 10k in Chelmsford, sign up quick it will sell out!

Tonights task was at our regular partner Interact so we set off heading along Bunny walk with some Fartlek (Swedish for "Speed Play") sprints on the whistle. Fartleks help to challenge the body to adapt to various speeds, conditioning you to become faster over longer distances.

We arrived at Moulsham Mill suitably warmed up for the task which was to clear loose soil around the entrance and lay down a base of base gravel and then a final covering of pea shingle. This will help people arriving to visit by not treading mud etc into the entrance area.

An offer was made for some runners to pack away Xmas decorations in the house and Rachel, Jennifer and Katie zipped their hands up! Catherine and Andy took control of the wheelbarrows, Kirk, Julie and Simon shoveled into the wheelbarrows and the rest spread the base around in an arc and finally the pea shingle to finish off.

Susie supplied the usual hospitality of drinks and biscuits to re-energise the sugar level, thanks as always Susie.

As the task and the earlier run took longer than usual it was straight back to the Uni for our warm down.
