Last night 4 lovely Goodgymers met up at the Produce Hall, and just getting there was a challenge due to the weather, the rain was crazy! So 4 of us was good, well done folks.....

After a brief chat we set off, there were multiple options on how to run to our location of St Elizabeths church, I think I choose the wettest, longest and hilliest route, sorry folks!

We made our way through Stockport, up Lanashire hill, then thorough the subway, which has puddles, really big puddles, and then a puddle that was like a river that every single one of us managed to run through, and then all stood in shock, it was funny though, I think?

We battled thorough the wind and the rain, trying to keep smiling and laughing, which we did. We eventually got to St Elizabeths and it was all worth it, the lovely Caroline met us with the biggest smile, playing Christmas music, she handed out sweeping brushes and bowls of soapy water, and told us to get pew it! by cleaning down the pews, sweeping the floor and cleaning the large windowcills

The church is a stunning church, that is a wonderful part of the community in Reddish, is hosts lots of community projects, and especially in these next few festive weeks, and we turned up in perfect time as the church had just been used for 'songs of praise' which featured Mayleene Class and Katy Tunstal, and is to be aired on Christmas Eve at 11.30pm. As well as our task last night, it was great to see the Stockport frogs back out in force with a festive vibe, we bumped into the pudding frog on our route home, the frogs were a great feature to Stockport over the summer and recently were auctioned off and raised an amazing £32,000 for Stepping Hills Tree House ward for children.

We eventally made it back to the produce hall, the run was far better on the way back, as the rain had stopped and it was mainly down hill. Thanks everyone for keeping up beat, i hope your feet have dried out!

Dont forget that this Sunday is the Stockport 10 by Stockport Harriers, if anyone wants to help out then meet at the club house on Woodbank/vernon park at 9am.

Also next Tuesday is our last run of the year, and so we will be staying on for food and drinks afterwards, itll be lovely to see you all there, have a great week folks
