Run the River - Teach FirstWe are going to be helping out at Run the River again this year. Check out the report and photos from last year here.
There won't be a group run and we will be meeting at the event instead of Old Spike. As well as signing up for the task on the GoodGym website, you will need to register through the Blackthorn platform here as well (add a comment that you are from GoodGym) .
Similar to last year, you'll be allocated a marshal point (shared via what3words) and a member of the Teach First team will meet you ~6:30pm to brief you and provide the volunteer pack (you don't need to turn up at 5pm). Last year we were all finished by ~8:30pm - we'll find a pub nearby to head to after we've finished helping out.
Run the River helps raise essential funds for Teach First’s work in schools serving disadvantaged communities, supporting the recruitment and training of teachers where they’re needed most — ultimately improving outcomes for children and young people across the country. Volunteers play a crucial role in making the event a success, helping to drive this impact forward.

New to GoodGym?
This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.
New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

There's space to change and leave bags and toilets. We're not planning to do anything purposefully dangerous, but GoodGym takes no responsibility for your safety during group runs, you participate at your own risk. Participants accept full responsibility for items stored at Old Spike Roastery, and Old Spike Roastery and GoodGym will not be held liable for any losses or damages.
