100
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Sunday, 5th of July 2020
This was a unique mission today. We weren't celebrating someone's 100th good deed but we were on hand to help someone celebrate their 100th birthday. Ms A is a keen gardener and GoodGym were asked if a couple of runners could come and plant some flowers in a patch of the garden at the care home for her. So Lenka and I jumped at the opportunity. We arrived to the care centre which was decorated in birthday decorations, cake and balloons. Miss A's family was there too celebrate with her (from a safe distance). It was very warm and sweet to see all the different generations of the family come together. As we planted, we witnessed all the birthday photography, Miss A drinking a pint of Guinness and even the queen's letter. It was all very special which even brought a tear of joy to her eyes. Happy Birthday Miss A.
