A Kiwi up an Orange Tree
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Saturday, 19th of November 2016
On Saturday Vicki and I braved the wintry weather to help out Mrs S with her neighbour's ivy. The intrepid ivy had manged to travel half way down her street across several back gardens and was peeking over her wall.
Mrs S was sick of looking at it so with the help of some giant shears and a saw we scaled her back wall and attacked it pouring boiling water and salt on any other weeds in our way (top tip from Mrs S about keeping weeds away).
Mrs S's lovely big orange tree was at risk of being climbed all over by the ivy so she was pleased with our work. Vicki also did a great job on pruning back a few bushes and sweeping up the odd leaf.
Having warmed up through our efforts we were ready to run home again to enjoy a well deserved cuppa.
