A Ponding Experience
7 GoodGymers made their way to help the Luton Borough Council Parks and Countryside in Luton.

As the drought peaked a golden opportunity to clear out some junk from a pony paddock pond presented itself as it was all dried up (but as my muddy shoes prove not completely!). It was a long uphill struggle to get there but the team stuck together and we made it in good time.
Items dug and wrestled out from the clay included two kids bike/trikes, other bike bits, a car tyre, a pair of stuck wellies, a plastic bag of bones (beefy ones but still grim!), a big plant pot, and load of logs and branches stuck in the mud.
With the pond cleared we headed to a nearby patch of nature reserve where the ragwort plant was dominating and needed thinning out to give other plant species a chance and maintain biodiversity. one big bag of pulled plants later we headed back down the hill into town.
