A ribbit of weeding can make a toadal difference!
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Newcastle.
- Sunday, 16th of September 2018
We were delighted to get the chance to help out a lovely lady in Newcastle for the third time in order to enable her to enjoy her garden.
It makes a huge difference to the older person that we can visit every month or so to help her keep on top of her weeding and grass-cutting, and so we cracked straight on to our task! Ross and Katy took the back garden, cutting the grass and removing weeds from the paving, while Liz took care of the weeds in the front garden and trimmed back some hedges which were creeping over the front path.
Now for the pun explanation...
Ross went straight for the lawn mover, but was soon interrupted by a gathering of teeny tiny frogs! Animal lovers that we are, we could not continue until we had helped all the little frogs to safety. After cutting the grass, they returned to their homes buried somewhere beneath (though perhaps with a bit of a headache). With the paths and front garden being cleared in no time after our little animal rescue, we soon had both outdoor spaces looking spick and span! A quick but worthwhile mission all the same!
Hopefully we can continue to offer our help and maybe next time we'll also see the family of foxes that supposedly roams the area!
