This evening Hilary, Rosa and I answered a last minute call for help to prepare Abbey Gardens for a redesign this Saturday! The first task was to clear out one of the beds for composting but the most tricky part was trying not to slip over walking to the composting heap! We then dug out a load of soil from the bed and put it into two wheelbarrows, one of which we discovered had a flat tyre! This made it a tricky task trying to push it from one side of the garden to the other but team work prevailed! The soil was then shovelled into another bed. As it started to get darker, we realised that none of us had a torch, but we still attempted to move some plants into buckets of soil to provide another empty bed. An Abbey Hour was had by all!
