Bags of fun again at Scope
7 GoodGymers made their way 6.5km to help the Scope in Leicester.
- Tuesday, 13th of November 2018
- Led by David Snutch
The usual suspects were ready and waiting for tonights task. Dave welcomed Abby to her first Goodgym run.
After a short run to Scope along the city centre streets we were met by Mel and Liam.
As we have completed several previous tasks at Scope we knew the drill and were soon hard at work sorting the last of the summer clothes into categories.
Jim and Dave were happy to model some of the scarves and hats, reminiscent of a Tommy Cooper sketch , every time we looked at Jim he was wearing a different form of headgear ranging from a bright blue visor to a cricket helmet!
Jen and Rachel on the other hand preferred the Goodgym super hero look! To infinity and beyond! or more like to infinity and.... a little way up London Rd.
After our clothes sorting task and a group photo session we were thanked by Liam, who again was astounded that in the short space of time we had sorted 35 bags.
After the task we took a longer loop for our run, up to London Rd & Waterloo Way - then a steady climb to New Walk.
We regrouped at bottom of New Walk for some hill form repeats - sprint up jog down. After 5 reps and a short rest it was up the steps then a sprint down the slope - another 5 reps left everyone with raised heart rates and a little out of puff - mission accomplished, one session like that once a week will improve form, speed and hill capability.
We had a steady jog back for some stretches.
