Bayeux Tapestry
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Windsor and Maidenhead.
- Tuesday, 27th of February 2024
It was a few weeks since I had last seen Mrs E, so we had plenty to catch up on. She had lost track of time, so was a bit perturbed that she hadn't brushed her hair before I came. Despite assurances from me that it really didn't matter, it was bothering her, so I made some tea while she went to make herself presentable! Mrs E has a lovely embroidery above her fireplace, which she had done herself, a representation of one of the scenes from the Bayeux tapestry. We chatted about this as I had seen a program about it the previous week, describing how they had analysed the tapestry and worked out the dyes that were used to colour the yarn and what the original colours would have been. The time just flew by, and soon it was time to say farewell for now and make my way home in the spring sunshine
