Bed --> street --> back, alright?
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.

Speed was the name of the game today as I met up with Abi for a lunchtime mission in Hackney for Mr W.
As with all lunchtime missions, I think we were both a little paranoid about exactly how long it would take us to get to Mr W's flat with lunchtime traffic. Consequently, and without any preplanning, Abi and I both arrived at Mr W's flat 15 minutes early. We decided that we would buzz the door anyway, and were pleasantly surprised that not only were our contacts from Age UK also there already, but so was Mr W's daughter. I don't think this is quite what they mean when they say that women's clocks sync up, but I was pleased for it regardless.
Mr W is currently in hospital and needs a hospital bed to be installed in his flat before he can be released home. To make some space for this, his existing double bed needed to be removed from the flat, which is where GoodGym came in to help.
While Abi and I grappled the mattress onto the street for the council to collect, our contacts from Age UK kindly detached the two divan boxes forming the base from each other so that they were also ready to be removed as soon as we were finished with the mattress. These removed, Mr W's daughter checked it over and said that this was all we had to do. This meant that Abi and I had managed to finish at least 5 minutes before our scheduled start time, which must be some type of record!
Feeling somewhat at a loss given how quickly it went (and perhaps somewhat inspired by a photoshoot from a weekend mission), I made sure to extend my time with Abi by directing her to "pose like you're in a boyband" next to the removed bed, before heading back to work. I'm not 100% sure that Abi was a boyband fan, or that my demonstrations behind the camera of how to pose were very successful (as can be seen from the during and after pictures in the split screen view), but I'm going to give us a mental high five for effort anyway 🖐️
Great working with you again, Abi: Enjoy GG Oxford tomorrow! 😄

GoodGym poster girl!
To get there quicker, I'd have ridden there on my cycle. 👍
@Danny 😂 (p.s. glad to see you like to use periods at the end of sentences, even when followed by an emoji. No missing periods for you! 😏)
