(Belated) Boxing Day

10 runners ran to help the Barnsley Churches Drop-In sort through festive shoebox donations.
Barnsley regulars, Sheffield tourists, and a brand new member (welcome Emily!) met up to run together to the BCDP. We were greeted again by Peter, who we worked with sorting donations at our last run before the end of 2019. We were back this evening to help sort through the wealth of festive shoebox donations, all provided by generous members of the public for those in need in Barnsley.
With an ample number of GoodGymmers this evening, we quickly got stuck into categorising crates and sections for different items, including toiletries, stationary, men's clothes, women's clothes, and food. There were plenty of cooks in the kitchen so to speak, so Grace, Mairead, Kim and Sarah headed across the road to help in sorting out bigger clothes items.
Many hands made light work and soon there were a dozen crates brimming with donations. We managed to get a quick team photo (thanks Grace) before heading back out into the evening, where we took a slightly longer route back to hike up those step counts. Also a great effort from everybody on the infamous Fitzwilliam Street hill segment 😙💨 let's hope Strava was recording that PB!
