A small but perfectly formed group of 6 GG runners met at Roll for the Soul to do some more good on Saturday morning.
Starting with the usual introductions and banter the group, led by t’other Chris (Lewis), headed off to the Bear Pit for a pre task warm up and then on to the St Pauls Learning Centre to help Incredible Edible tackle a hedge problem. The first obstacle was locating our host who was nowhere to be seen outside the Centre but as we are never ones to miss a running opportunity, our intrepid bunch took to the streets of St Pauls and there down one of the side streets we met up with our host and the awaiting task.
We were introduced to a large hedge pretty much fully taken over by Boston Vine and our job was to remove as much of this as possible in the allotted time. Despite the smaller than usual group it was no time at all before we had managed to fill a big green disposal bin which provided the opportunity for another favourite GG pastime - getting into the bin and jumping up and down to make room for yet more of the pesky vine.
The task suitably smashed and with a shorter run than usual we headed back to the Bear Pit for a variety of circuits (note from Pru - I hope there were lunges!) before returning to Roll For The Soul for some stretching and sustenance.
Good work gang!
(Note from Pru: And great work from Dave G for providing this run report and photos! Plus epic leadership from the wonderful Chris L. Thanks!)
