Branching out in Wanstead
8 GoodGymers made their way 5.7km to help their local community in Redbridge.

On a pleasant summer’s evening seven of Goodgym Redbridge’s finest runners met to prune bushes and ran 5.6km in the process.
With work underway to repaint the fences at Wanstead House Community Association it was time for the team to make life easy for themselves and trim back the bushes that were making painting progress impossible. Armed with long handled croppers and secateurs the team set to work to trim back the trees and bushes.
Within 40 minutes a huge pile of branches had been lopped off making access to the fencing easier and allowing for the painting work to continue in the coming weeks.
With the task done all that was left was to head out to Wanstead Park to get fit. First time runner, Andy, led the group around a beautiful loop of the Park - definitely one of my favourite runs in the area.
With the group a little hot and sweaty it was time to return to base for an easy stretching session.
Great to meet new runners, Andy and Katie who got well and truly stuck in on their first task.
Fancy getting involved? Check out the task planned next week
