A Broom With A View
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Saturday, 27th of January 2018
Júlia and Steve kicked off the day with a Parkrun in Highbury Fields before a quick coffee and a jog to Mrs M’s flat to help tidy her balcony.
And what a view! You could see every tower block and skyscraper for miles. Mrs M kept us entertained with stories and Steve over-caffeinated with a cuppa as we chatted a little before getting to work. Not a great deal to be done, but it’s swept and looking tidy after a little bit of rubbish was taken away. And more importantly Mrs M loved the company.
Back indoors in the warm flat, her cat Honey kept us entertained and we spoke about her time in Nigeria as a teacher, and how to pronounce Welsh towns and cities.
Being up so high, Mrs M has a pigeon issue she’d like to (peacefully) settle in the future, so maybe we’ll be back to install something to keep them off the ledge.
