What an awesome job that was! After a quick meet and greet and a low down on the task ahead, we set about heading off. Barbara suggested another route to the task which had a rather juicy hill for us to sprint up! After our 2km run we arrived at Derrys Field Allotments. The Task was to clear an old communual area which had become overgrown and negleted. Once tools and gloves had been handed out we set to work. Once the main brambles had been cut and removed we raked the area and set the mower to work! Two raised beds were also cleared before we forked over and turned the soil. 40 mins of hard graft and we had completed the task. This was an amazing workout and we still had the 2km to run back. Once we had locked up we headed back a slightly easier route which gave everyone a good chance to chat and get to know each other! Everyone got stuck in tonight and worked really hard! A big thankyou to Barbara and George for showing us the better route and Holly and Rob for being back markers!
