Case of a luggage
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Friday, 1st of November 2019
Mayuko and Gosia met up in Southwark today to help Mrs A and Mr A in making more space in their apartment ๐ . Mrs A welcomed us at the door and showed us around. We have quickly noticed that there is a lot of stuff lying around in every room โ it surely makes moving around the flat difficult for both of them.
Ok, so where to start?! We kicked off with moving few bags and suitcases from the floor to the top of (already very high) mountain ๐ป made of other luggage ๐งณ and boxes ๐ฆ. Then, Mrs A asked us to move some of the stuff from the window sill onto the shelf near Mr Aโs bed.
We had few ideas ๐ก, but Mr A wanted to keep quite many things handy. It just makes it easier for her to operate as she lives a busy life juggling ๐คนโโ๏ธ between work and taking care of her husband. She was quite reluctant to move some of the things in less accessible places (like jackets, shoes or bags).
We spent a while on just having a nice chat ๐ฌ with her - she shared about her busy day-to-day and also about her efforts to arrange a proper hospital bed for Mr A. We suggested that โ if one arrives โ GG could definitely give a hand.
Just before we left, we took a bug with rubbish and put it in a bin outside the flat ๐.
Mr A was very thankful and also expressed an interest in reaching out to GG again when a need arises. She was also interested in having a coach runner visiting Mr A sometime so he will have a company and someone to talk to ๐.
