Okay so it was cold when we arrived at Cromer just before 11am this morning.

Our mission was to picked up 100 pieces of rubbish to mark 100 Goodgym missions! Woohoo!

Jess was the litter picker upper and I held the bag! We worked our way along the huge flints and found many pieces of rope/rubber/metal and plastic.

All of a sudden I asked Jess to stop and turn around as there was a baby Seal on the flints very close to the sea wall! We were both really surprised, we hadn't noticed as we had our heads down looking for litter.

I phoned the RSPCA but could only leave a messgae desribing our position. The seal looked really healthy but was still in white fur and there were not adult seals around. We then called another rescue centre who said that this was quite typical. Taking the advice we left it alone and made dog walkers aware.

We kept looking up and down the beach and we found a Lamprey! It was beautiful but it really shouldn't be on the rocks so I gently picked it up and walked it back to a rockpool! We found our 100 pieces!!! Mission complete!

As we left the beach a man stood near the seal pup and when I asked him if he had called someone he said 'the lady is coming now'. A high viz hero from the RSPCA was coming down to take a look, hurrah!

We had lunch at No 1 and warmed up a bit before heading down to the left side of the pier with the rockpools. Jess was looking for stone age tools and I was on the hunt for Belamites.

We visited the visitors centre and watched a great video about the 'Deep History Coast'. The chap working there explained that the Mammoth Marathon had been cancelled and as such they have a lot of medals left over! They have made a challenge map for people to complete and in return you get a Mammoth Medal!

It was a great day out to the beach! Spotting the Seal and the Lamprey made me think that picking up the rubbish has got to be worth it for our awesome wildlife here in Norfolk!
